Ever see anything unique or historic happen while you were in a Disney Park?

When I was little, and at Disneyland, we happened to be at the park on the day of the grand opening of The Enchanted Tiki Room, and Walt was there making the dedication. I remember the large crowd, and seeing Walt from my Dad's shoulders. Boy, do I wish my Dad had been filming that!

Yes! I was hanging out in Germany one night, waiting for Illuminations to begin, and suddenly people all around me began to shout and clap and cheer and hoot and holler - the space shuttle was lifting off! It was this orange fireball ascending in the sky. I think this was December 2006. We thought it was really nice of Disney to arrange such a nifty pre-show for us! LOL

Haha! That is fantastic! These are the kinds of stories I want to hear about, small or large! Thanks Tink!

I'm sure if you think about it you have probably seen something out of the ordinary. I remember a long time ago at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom, the 3 o'clock parade featured as the Master of Ceremonies: Regis Philbin, of all people, hehe! Way before his talk show and Millionaire...

Something unique Daniel and I saw at Walt Disney World was in Splash Mountain... "Mr. Bluebird" was on the banks of the river, singing away with his head hanging off to one side. I think Dan got a picture of it. Didn't ya, Dan?

Nothing too historic, but when I worked at the Walt Disney Resort a few summers ago I helped make a proposal infront of Cinderalla's Castle extra magical!

I had my coordinators seal off walking through the castle possible just before Wishes began and we brought the couple up and he proposed to her right underneath it. It was wonderful to be able to provide that privacy for them and create that magical moment! I'll never forget it!

I saw the space shuttle take off last June while I was at the pool at OKW. Awesome site!

I went to Disneyland for its 50th celebration on the actual day - July 17, 2005. I think the funniest part of the memory was waiting for the park to open and seeing people in line reading the 6th Harry Potter book, which had been released the day before. I was jealous of them because my own book was waiting for me, 1700 miles away! Heheh. But still, it must have weighed a TON schlepping that book around.

I will also note that I was not one of the lunatics that stayed overnight at DCA to be the first ones inside the park. I had a perfectly good hotel room to sleep in. ;)

I'll rummage through my photos to see... I remember it was during E-Ride night, so we rode it three times in a row (since there wasn't a line). The first time the head was dangling, the second time it was off and laying at his feet, the third time the entire animatronic was removed like it never happened.

I was there too. I also slept in my hotel room and got there about an hour before the park opened. I got in the line to go through security right by the tram station. Unfortunately, the line was heading from the tram stop into Downtown Disney. We had to go all the way to the Monorail station and then turn back to the park entrance. It was very cool to be there on THE day.

Me too Tink! It was such a cool experience. I was in Tomorrowland and we were getting ready to get on line for something (Buzz Lightyear I think) and one of the cast members was telling people and getting peoples attention to see it. I got a picture on my old cell phone. I have to turn it on and download it one day.
