Ever see anything unique or historic happen while you were in a Disney Park?

When I was little, and at Disneyland, we happened to be at the park on the day of the grand opening of The Enchanted Tiki Room, and Walt was there making the dedication. I remember the large crowd, and seeing Walt from my Dad's shoulders. Boy, do I wish my Dad had been filming that!

I got to see the Muppet Mobile Lab the first time it was at Epcot last September (it went to Hong Kong afterwards)! A couple of pictures of it are in my Walt Disney World photo album. Me and my friend saw it the last day it was at Epcot. It's supposed to be coming back to WDW sometime though, I think.

That is pretty cool. I love here and I think I have seen just about every show that they have on the travel channel about Disney.

Our unique experience didn't happen in a park but rather from a monorail. A couple of years ago, my DH and I were on the resort monorail doing the "resort tour" when it stopped at the GF. When the doors opened, we saw Samantha Brown of The Travel Channel sitting on the bench with her entourage. It was so cool because we watch all her travel shows. I was like " OMG - there's Samantha Brown!". They were taping so no one was allowed on or off the monorail. We didn't get to meet her but did get a wave : )

Hmmm, let's see...I've seen every carnation of Mickeys' Birthday Land, Star Land, and Toon Town Fair. I was at EPCOT 25 last year. And the opening of the Re-Haunting at The Haunted Mansion. I'm sure I can think of some more, but those are first to come to mind.

I was at EPCOT the night that the fire occurred on the monorail. We didn’t get back to Ft. Wilderness until 3:00am. We heard that some people didn’t get back to their hotels until 5:00am.

Yep. I was at Disneyland on the day they held the grand re-opening of the Pirates of the Caribbean ride in 2006 (when they added Cpn Jack Sparrow, Barbossa, and Davey Jones). Not quite as exciting as yours, Rick! But it was still cool because they had all kinds of Pirate-themed merchandise and characters all over the park.

My family celebrated the Millennium New Years at Epcot. Remember all the hoopla--rooms were sold out years in advance, Disney was saying they would turn people away all day if you weren't staying on site, yadda-yadda-yadda! Well, I REALLY wanted to go, and my husband decided he would surprise me with it fro Christmas. Since I am the travel agent in the family, he never does this type of stuff, but he did great. All Disney Resorts were booked, but he called the front Desk at the Swan Resort and got us a room - and he didn't even book it until the end of October!!! They were uber worried about crowds, but it really wasn't as bad in the parks as they thought. The best part was being able to walk into Epcot - I heard horror stories of people stuck on resort buses for hours. It was a very magical night - they had enormous screens in all the countries and they showed each country's New Year celebration as it happened. It was amazing!! The other neat thing was that they had generator lights EVERYWHERE - just in case Y2K destroyed the Disney light grid. Of course, we all woke up the next morning and everything was just fine - ha! :)

I was at EPCOTs 25th anniversary recently.

I worked at the first Pirate and Princess party.

I guarded the walkway between Fantasyland and Liberty Square the day HM reopened. lol.

I have seen a couple of space shuttles launch... I was like, "wait a second why has everyone stopped and looked up?" lol...

I know this happens every year but I thought it was unique being there for NYE. We (attractions workers in Fantasyland) were able to stop operating the ride and walk outside to watch the firework because EVERYONE was watching them, at midnight. I thought that was amazing. And how the entire ground in Fantasyland was covered in people sitting on the ground. That was cool.

I saw Beyonce perform at the castle, recording the Christmas special. She was a diva lol! Pretty cool.

I am always one step behind the celebrities lol so I have not met anyone famous yet but I have seen them. My GMR tour guide (this was back before I got the transfer there) when Kelli and I were on it one day while she was visiting (that was historic to me, going to WDW with a BFF I've had for 12 years, 13 now) was really not supposed to say this but let us know that Christina Agulera was on the car in front of us-hahahaha yeah. CMs, DON'T do this lol!-anyways so we decided to try and see her. We didn't want to talk to her, or bother her, just to see her lol. Unfortunately we didn't when we got off but we found out that he was absolutely right because I saw photos of her on the HUB (private CM company website) from that later soon after! I saw Celine Dion in Fantasyland by the Peter Pan FPs with her entourage and her daughter and husband. And someone told me Michael J Fox was getting on Peter Pan's Flight and I really actually tried to get over there because I am a huge fan of his but he was leaving and I saw him from really far away lol. I wish I had been working on the handicapped entrance to PPF that day man! Oh my gosh.

Oh and again not historic for other people but I got to go to WDW with my other BFF Monica who I have been best friends with for 14 years last year when we were both CMs-I was FT and she was a CP so that was amazing for me.

I have gotten to do a lot of other unique stuff because of being a CM but those are probably the ones that are more interesting to other people and i guess more relevant to the discussion. (:

I guess we probably bumped into eachother then, possibly. I remember sneaking on the newly refurbed HM with a few other skippers before our shift started. Best ride through, EVER! :D
