Headed to BLT for the first time on Friday!!! I'm taking my laptop with so I hope to post a few pictures while I'm gone. If I don't get a chance to I'll definitely be bringing back lots to share when I return!

The Grand Californian is gorgeous SorcererBeth! We were able to stay 3 nights in 2005. Loved it! It helped that our room was labeled a "non view" room but still faced DtD, MK and DCA!!! I could sit on our balcony and listen to the train whistle at the main street station at DL. It was a fantastic experience!

We'll be staying at the Grand Californian at the end of December! We didn't get an actual DVC villa, but are using our points for a regular GC hotel room (since that won't be allowed anymore after Dec. 31). It will be our first time on-property at Disneyland, and we can't wait!

Whoops! I should've added that it was our BLT add on points that just got finalized when reservations opened for BLT. Which I'm sure helped a great deal for us booking as well - having first dibs because we're owners there and because it had just opened up.

I know what you mean Kristin, sometimes the 11 month booking window is really hard to plan for! We go every year in late Nov/early Dec which is always the easy trip to book at 11 months because we do it every year but other trips we take - we're usually later than that in deciding!

The only time we've been able to book at BLT is when the preferred window had opened for folks who owned BLT points....since then, no luck for any type of room! I've waitlisted every time as well, but no luck trying to book a room for any view, even standard! I think people who own the BLT points will really luck out by having the 11 month window and booking then if they are prepared. I think beyond that time frame, it's going to be difficult to book at that resort. I say that sadly because I'm not always ready 11 months out!! Luckily, we'll be staying there at Christmas with a MK view so I will be taking LOTS of pictures from the balcony!!!

Hey Casey! We did not have a hard time booking BLT - BUT...we also called the first morning reservations were being taken for BLT. It was kind of crazy our points at BLT were literally finalized within a couple days of reservations starting for there so it worked out perfectly. I think we had a longer wait than normal on hold that morning but we got our desired dates no problem. Also, it might have helped that we did not want an MK view room...too many points for what we had available. I would imagine MK view rooms book way faster!

And I agree with Casey, would love to see some pictures of BLT DisneyDonnaM if you have some share! I'm still 60 days away from our stay there.

We are back from BLT. Loved it. Can't wait to go back next year.
