I know I always call every Disney trip "the best ever" but does anyone have a DVC trip that is their particular favorite?

I think mine (so far) would have to be our first DVC trip in December 2007. It was something of a marathon, we joined under the 7 month booking window and had to do some work to book all our nights. We stayed one night at Beach Club Villas in a Studio, one night at Old Key West in a one bedroom and 3 nights at Wilderness Lodge Villas in a one bedroom.

My mom came down as well and stayed the whole trip with us except the first night at BCV. And even though it was something of a pain to switch rooms 3 times, I think in the end it allowed us to really see all the new possibilities DVC had opened up for us at WDW! We bought in because of Animal Kingdom Lodge but we loved all 3 resorts we stayed at that trip!

The original awe of being able to stay at Beach Club even for just that first night had me on cloud nine! I'd always thought oh gosh we'd never be able to afford to stay there... We checked in and walked over to Epcot and thought - we're walking from our hotel to Epcot! :)

The next day at Old Key West I was shocked by the size of the one bedroom! We decided it was easily larger than our first little house! When my mom arrived we realized how nice it was to have all the extra room and how easy it made having someone stay with us.

At Wilderness my husband figured out all the choices he had for his morning run and was so excited! We had some fabulous walks between there and the campground. And even with the smaller than OKW one bedroom at Wilderness my mom kept commenting on how she'd been worried she was going to feel "in our way" over the course of the trip but that the rooms were set up in such a way that she never did.

Overall it was a fabulous start to many many years of DVC vacations. I can only imagine where DVC will take us over the years - and how many times my "favorite" trip will change. :)

That sounds like a great trip stitchcrazy! We have only done a few trips as DVC members but so far the best was 10 days at AKL. You can read about it here...

I think I have to say my fav DVC trip so far was our third trip in 2003 (I think it was 3... might have been 2nd or 4th). It was the trip we took my Jeffrey's (my partner) family. I was in the "must impress the in-laws" phase, so did all the planning and arranging etc. It had been so long since they had been that they might as well have never been anyway. I was a nervous wreck hoping everything would be perfect so they would have a "Magical Disney Experience." I booked a 2 bedroom at VWL (my fav resort) requested and got the rare and hard to get "lake view" (or so I've been told), and made dining arrangements at Whispering Canyon, the Luau at the Poly, Boma's at AKL (my fav), and a couple other places I don't remember off hand, and a surprise of Cirque on the last night. I also made al lthe travel arrangemetns (had a towncar pick us up to take us to Disney, and limo to take us back to the airport - had to leave in style!). My partner was "Yea - whatever" during the whole planning phase of the trip - which didn't help my nerves at all. I even took a week off work before the trip just to relax and make sure I was in the right frame of mind to deal w/ family.

We got there, and Jeffrey took over and turned into the trip nazi. "We have plans, here, here, and here. We ride, this, this and this! Shop later, walk now!" It was kind of funny, and what his family needed cuz they really did want to "see it all." There was no sibling fighting between Jeffrey and Kelly (his sister), David (Kelly's then fiancee, now husband) who is a very picky eater, ate and enjoyed the food, and Jeffrey's mom rode everything (her siblings had teased her that she was to old and would be sitting on the bench most of the time so she decided to prove them wrong - her favorite rides: Mission Space and Rock-N-Roll Roller Coaster). The trip turned out great and his family was very appreciative - yes I scored major brownie points!

Just got back from my favorite DVC trip on Friday. We left Oct 8th flew to Disney stayed at the Contemporary for one night and then took the bus to the Disney Cruise Line for a four day cruise to Nassua and Castaway Cay. arriving back at port we got back on the bus and went back to Old Key West for 5 more nights. A great time was had by all. For anyone thinking about joining or having questions about the Disney Vacation Club, you cant go wrong. I would be happy to answer any questions you may have. I am a member at Saratoga Springs. Our whole trip was booked with Vacation Club points and it was a great time. If you have any questions about the Disney Vacation Club email me at bmbrooks@comcast.net. or if you would rather talk over the phone drop me an email and i will give you a call.

Thanks,
Bruce Brooks

This is actually pretty easy to answer. Our first trip ever as DVC'ers. We joined in Feb. 06 site unseen. Thanks to the internet and the vast amount of information on DVC we called and signed up. We went to BWV in Sept of that year and loved it! As a matter of fact we bought another 115 points on our cruise a week later. But I can remember how unsure my husband was about spending that kind of money without having ever stayed at one of the resorts. Well on our second night at BWV my husband and I were sitting on the balcony after a long day in the parks and he turned to me and said, "This is so worth it." I knew it would be a match made in Disney heaven.

I have stayed at Old Key West. Love the big rooms, but found it very inconvenient to get around because we did not travel with a car. We have never stayed at the beach club, but really want to (it's very hard to get in). I love the AKL. We stayed there with my whole family (including my nieces and nephew) and had an amazing time. That might be my most amazing trip to Disney. We are going in two day on a land/sea vacation and staying at the wilderness lodge villas. I really like the wilderness lodge and am looking forward to staying there.

I have so many good memories - I have to say that finally buying into DVC was the best decision ever! My favorite trip (so far!) has to be the first one we took in Dec 2007 (the week before Christmas)! It was me, my mom, 2 of my cousins, my friend and her family (husband, kids & sister), plus another friend of ours. We got a 2 bedroom at Old Key West which was awesome! The first night we got there, we were all fighting over the jacuzzi tub that 4 of us ended up in there with our bathing suits on LOL!

The rooms were spacious and we loved having the full kitchen. The kitchen worked out really well in the morning with having small kids...they could eat and watch TV while everyone got ready. There were so many of us that we got to split up in different groups every day and check things out, re-group at dinner and we all had so much to talk about from what we did that day. The highlight had to be seeing all the gorgeous Christmas decorations at the parks and resorts - we couldn't stop staring at the castle!! We also went to MVMCP and had soooo much fun! The kids actually stayed awake for the whole thing.

We had pool time, good food, lots of laughs - just and all around great time. We were so sad to leave and talk about that vacation all the time! We are heading down this week with most of the same people for some new memories and for Christmas with family, so this is a good travel year for us :)
