i have just read about the demolition of the tomorrow land skyway station and i am so sad - the Skyway was fantastic fun and now its only going to be a memory :(
ill be in the World in just over a week so ill try and get some pics of whatever is left but i dont think there will be much :(

for anyone like me who wonderded why River country closed i have just found the following on wdwmagic.com:
According to the Florida Dept of Recreation, RC closed because the water that is used to make RC run is coming from Bay Lake and the toxins have made it unhealty for the park guests. So if you have ever wondered why its closed, then that is the reason.

i have no idea how tru this is but it seems reasonable :( id be willing to risk it though!!!!!

thanks ian - i just found River country on google earth - its looking very sorry for itself......
are there any CMs on here who know what happens there now / if anything is planned for the future there?

Also just found discovery island - for some reason, i thought it was on the other side of the cont resort :S

River country is still there, i fyou hire a boat on bay lake you can still see the perimeter although its all overgrown. Its a park I never got to visit.

Discovery Island is still there, you just can't go to it. It was basically replaced by the Animal Kingdom

What ever happened to the River Country water park? I always wanted to visit it but never got the opportunity :(

YEAH!!! Madd Butler - Yes, I miss what EPCOT used to be also. As I've written in other blogs, Walt never meant for EPCOT to be a "Magic Kingdom South."
