I agree Princess Nath, at least the dolls will look like the actual ones.

i dont know how i feel about that....i like it just the dolls....hmmmm, that will take some sinking in before i can actually form an opinion

Thanks for the invite - I just love this attraction! I am so torn about adding Disney characters, but Marty Sklar is in favor of it, and I really respect him.

I heard that Mary Blair´s family sent a letter to the Disney Authorities in order to leave the ride the way it is now, all this comes because in Hong Kong Disneyland was the first park to get this new adition, but personally, I will have to wait and see if it fits to this classic

Yeah, there is a lot of discussion about this on the blogs. Someone even started a website at http://savethesmallworld.com/ - still don't know how I feel. I know Walt was a believer in change, but hard to know what he would think about it. Is it just change for change's sake, or will it add something. Anyone heard how it was received in Hong Kong?

it´s kinda the almost the same feeling when Disney decided to close Mr. Toad´s wild ride in WDW to build Winnie the Pooh ride. I would prefer to leave and respect everything that Walt himself touched.

I just found a 4 part series on YouTube. Toward the end of part three - it totally freaked me out to see Lilo and Stitch!! Here's the link to part 1 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QZKPNeQspWE -- very strange. I think you're right - a large part of the draw to that ride, and others is that it was touched by Walt and Mary Blair's imagination.

LOL, yes is looks so weird, it´s because we are so familiar with that ride that we don´t like them to change it, it brings me memories from childhood everytime I ride it.

Here´s the list of additions in HK Disneyland:

America: Woody and Pocahontas, Mexico: Donald (as the Three Caballeros)
Europe: England: Peter Pan and Wendy, Italy: Pinocchio
Asia: India: Baloo and Mongli China: Mushu (as a kite). Middle East: Aladdin, Jasmin, Abu and the Genie.
Africa: Simba (as a sun)
Pacific Islands: Lilo and stitch
Africa

What's wrong with the Princess? O_o Aren't ALL the Disney Princesses considering part of "the" princesses???

OT...anyways :p

I joined because I was a SW CM for a while and I grew to love this ride because of working in Fantasyland...as a kid I hated it...hahaha
