Disneyland Trip Report, October 2009 PART 1

My parents and I visited the Disneyland Resort from October 15-19 and we had a great time.

We booked our trip at Expedia.com. It was the first time we've used an online travel service, so we were a little nervous. But all of our reservations worked out. Although, web check-in wasn't any faster than normal boarding procedure...

If you could change one attraction's queue line, what would it be? How would you change it?

I have thought about this so many times, but I think the worst is California Screamin'. There is nothing to look at and you bake in the sun! I'm just so not impressed with what the Imagineers did (or rather, didn't do) with that queue. It's just gray cement walls.

I think they should put up some old-fashioned California billboards. Like those old train and airplane travel posters? All they have to do is slap them up on the existing walls- it would be a very cheap fix. Also, instead of sporadic… Continue

What is your favorite time of the year to visit the parks?

I don't know yet, but by December 17th I will have an answer. I am so excited! My family bought Disneyland annual passes and we're going from October 15-19 and AGAIN from December 10-16. After the December trip, I will have been to the Disney parks once every season and during every major holiday. WOO!!!!

If you could have 1 Disney attraction in your backyard, what would it be? Would you share it with others, or keep it to yourself?

Tough question... My original thought was Pirates, as it is my favorite attraction. But I wouldn't want to ride it so many times that I get sick of it. I think maybe a highly repeatable attraction, like Splash Mountain or Space Mountain.

I think Splash Mountain would be great- there is so much to look at I would never get bored. And when I'm done, I can just run back inside my house and change my clothes!

If you were at a Disney park - What would you be doing RIGHT NOW?

It is 7:26 PM on a Monday. The fireworks aren't until 9:25, so I have over an hour to kill before I need to claim my spot on Main Street. It's probably been a long hot day, but I've just eaten dinner so I have my second wind. At this very moment, I'd head over to Space Mountain to snag a Fast Pass, then I'd hop in line for the Matterhorn.
