As of February 7, 2010, Dinner at Cinderella's Royal Table will now be the same as the Breakfast and Lunch character meals at the restaurant. When you arrive at the restaurant, Cinderella will welcome you to her castle in the lobby. At that time, she will pose for photos and sign autographs, then you will proceed upstairs to dine with other characters from Disney's Royal Family. (Characters subject to change without notice.) The official name for all three meals at the Castle will be Fairytale Dining at Cinderella's Royal Table, and all will require 2 entitlements when using the Disney Dining Plans.
La Nouba by Cirque du Soleil announced that a new act featuring world-renowned juggler Anthony Gatto will be added permanently to the 90-minute spectacle at Downtown Disney beginning February 5, 2010. Anthony Gatto, who holds 11 world records in juggling, comes to La Nouba from the tour of KOOZA by Cirque du Soleil. In the nine-minute act, Gatto juggles balls, hoops and clubs in unprecedented numbers at amazing speed with seemingly impossible accuracy. This act replaces the chair-balancing act originally performed in La Nouba.
When we were young, didn't we all think at one time, "What good is this sibling of mine?" Well, one of the girls in this week's photo finally has the chance to say, "I Knew My Sister Would Come in Handy One Day!" Photo submitted by dad Brian Chesteen, of Newport, Tennessee.

A new exhibit sponsored by IBM debuted at Innoventions West on Friday, January 29. Dubbed "SmarterPlanet," the exhibit offers visitors a "behind-the-scenes" glimpse of how technology is helping solve the world's most complex problems -- from reducing road traffic and city crime to improving food safety and local water supplies. It is powered by a Smarter Data Center, providing a real-life demonstration of optimized computing that reduces energy costs by up to 25 percent. The experience encourages guests to think about their individual role in creating a smarter planet as well as understand how smarter data centers are the heart of a more sustainable, technology-enabled world. Hands-on interactive kiosks offer guests a "match" game that reveals societal and technological implications of creating a smarter planet. Guests will discover how more than two billion people are using mobile phones to open and use bank accounts for the first time; or that only 11 percent of the United States money supply is cash; or that by unplugging household appliance while not in use homeowners can save cash, up to $286 every year; or how smarter food systems track the temperatures of foods from one location to another to prevent spoilage. From the same kiosks, guests can take a Smarter Planet poll and compare their answers with those of other visitors. The exhibit also features Runtime, created by Walt Disney Imagineering, which transforms guests into personalized avatars as part of the video game experience. Players run, jump and dance through a timeline of IBM's achievements in the history of computing, journeying from the Babbage computer, through vacuum tubes and chips and bits, to the Internet. Guests can also email their personalized version of the game to any computer, extending the Runtime experience to their home. AllEars Blogger Mike Bachand attended the grand opening and shares his thoughts in his blog.
