Well New Bedford is not to far away. I am heading back to Disney in Dec. I am going for mousefest, doing the cruise and land. Can't wait mousefest was so much fun last year. When do you plan on going again?
Hello Kim! I'm about to graduate with a degree in Tourism & Resort management. I enjoyed everything I learned but to be honest their is not a lot of differences between my degree and a management degree. so much of the service industry is about how much experience you have gained in the field. Now in the case of Disney one of the qualification was to be earning or have earned a degree in hospitality management or related degrees. It certainly helped that I had it on there but they were more worried about my past experience and my people skills. One thing I would sugguest is a strong understanding of computer systems. everything you do at Disney is in DBMS which is a form database. after my first experience working at WDW I took a computer class and was glad I did. they will ask you how stronge your computer skills are for sure. if you go back to school you can even think about doing the Disney College Program to get your foot in the door with them. That was another big reason that I got an interview was becuase I have a past knowledge of the way the operations work. i hope that kinda answers your question please feel free to keep them coming!!
