Yesterday we went to my brother-in-law's church for their yearly children's service & Christmas pageant. My 4 nieces & nephews participate every year. My oldest niece is 14 and sang two solos! One of them was BELIEVE FROM POLAR EXPRESS!!! I am so grateful that you inspired me to watch that movie!!! I said to Kevin somehow this is like my Polar Express Christmas this year. :) Anyway she did a fabulous job, I cried I was so proud!
Can't wait for your return and to hear all about your trip!!!

Last night I kept up my yearly tradition of seeing our local version of A Christmas Carol. It was delightful as always. You were definitely with me in spirit!
Eeek! Heard the monorails leaving MK were stuck from 1-3 am last night because of a power outage with people stuck on them. I hope you weren't on one of them!!! That was the first thing I thought of when I heard about it!
Hi Daniel!! Wishing you a safe trip!! Hope you have a most magical time and enjoy everything!! Can't wait to hear all about it!! Say Hi to Ariel for me!!
We're actually very fortunate, we head back already in 2 months to celebrate our 6th anniversary! We'll be there for a long weekend. The best part about being DVC owners is we generally know when our next trip is always. We have our next two planned already! 2/5-2/10 and then a week in August.
August will be a mega trip, we've invited Kevin's brother, sister-in-law and their 4 kids to come for a trip with us. My nieces and nephews are 8, 11, 12 & 14. We have a 2 bedroom savannah view booked at Kidani Village. Kevin's family did a family trip to Orlando 4 years ago but the kids only got one day at Magic Kingdom and we didn't stay on-site. This will be an all Disney trip. The kids don't know they're going yet, I'm hoping they'll find out at Christmas!
I so hope you have better weather for your trip! And I definitely hope your Mickey's Party is a dry one!!! I'll be excited to see your pictures especially of the parade. It was a very sad moment when I realized we weren't going to see it this year.
Did I tell you Sea World had a Polar Express attraction? It made me more glad than ever that you encouraged me to finally watch it. The main attraction is a simulator ride which make me quite sick but luckily they had a non motion video you could watch as well. It was a cute little addition all around. And then when my mom was with us I brought the movie on the trip so I had her watch it with me. Another fan of the movie has been officially found! :)
I'm sure you'll be extremely busy getting ready to leave, if I don't have a chance to check in with you before you go I hope you have a WONDERFUL, FANTASTIC and MAGICAL time!!! Take lots of pictures...enjoy every moment! I'll be thinking of you and wishing you happy vacation thoughts the whole time! :)
HAVE FUN!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey, Enjoy WDW! I bet you are so excited. Christmas is my favourite time in the parks. I am hoping to go at some point next year as I've been busy with work etc. Have a swell time and let me know all about it. Say hi to the swan and dolphin for me! Take care!
THREE DAYS TO GO! Your countdown is finally nearing its end my dear friend!!! Are you getting ready to go? Starting to pack? Lots of last minute preparations still to take care of?
We're safely and yet of course unhappily back home. :) How time can move so quickly I don't know but it seems like just yesterday I was on my last day of work and now here I am back at work!
I am so excited for you to go now and have your Disney adventure!!! We will be able to swap stories when you return and compare notes on what we thought of everything. :)
I had one last minor set back in my trip, it rained ALL NIGHT the night of my Mickey's VMCP. :( This resulted in a VERY abbreviated parade that was so short that we completely missed it. I had everything all timed out so that we could head to Main Street to see the second parade and we got to Main Street by 10:45 and the music was just finishing up for the parade. I was so confused! I was like its such a long parade, how could it have made it all the way from Frontierland and to the end of Main Street in only 15 minutes!!!
But when we got down to the end of Main Street (as we were ready to leave, the parade was going to be last on our list, with the rain the upside was the park was empty and we did ALL the rides by 10:45!!!) I saw there was a line of at least 100 people outside Town Hall at Guest Relations and when I got closer I realized they were all there to complain that the parade had been short and not at all the normal one. So it was a little sad to be rained on all night and then get no parade but I totally understand where it would be hard to do the normal parade in all that rain.
Well I have much catching up to do. I just wanted to check in and say hi and I hope you are enjoying the final days of your trip countdown!!! :)
Greetings from Disney World!!! We are officially half way through our trip :( but today is the day my mom arrives so I'm extremely excited about that!
So far only one major disappointment. We found out the hard way that Epcot has retired the Lights Of Winter archways between Future World and World Showcase! And by the hard way I mean we walked over there excitedly and were crushed to find nothing but the Epcot Christmas tree (which by the way as of 48 hours ago was CROOKED). So sad!!!
On a happier note, last night we finally got a proper viewing of the Osborne Lights and I think they are particularly spectacular this year!!! I thought there was more snow than ever falling and I saw a number of new things. I can’t wait to go back and see what else I can spy that is new or at least new to me! :)
Well I am supposed to be packing all our things up right now so we can move from Bay Lake Tower to Animal Kingdom Lodge today so I had better hop to it. Before I go here is a funny picture for you…Hollywood Studios has a spot where you can take a picture with a big cutout of Scrooge. You are supposed to stand behind it and put your face in a candle flame, a family before me stood in front of it so I figured hey its just me I will do the same. Well we got back to the room and I looked at the pictures – I laughed so hard! I think I managed to accidentally stand perfectly in a spot that makes it look like Scrooge is pinching my bottom!!!! :)
PART TWO (MAKE SURE YOU READ THE NOTE BELOW FIRST!!)
One of my fav retellings is Patrick Stewart's audio version (as well as his film) of the story. I have it on tape and must find it on CD to listen to in my car for the holiday season. For my birthday, my best friend gave me a book of Charles Dickens tales which includes this story along with others. I hope to read one each night during this season.
Thank you for your kind words about my family and our Thanksgiving. It has been quite a rough year for everyone in my family this year but we indeed have much to be thankful for and are very happy to have each other. Family is a beautiful gift that should be treasured all year long.
But enough of that mush.... : )
We decorated the outside of our home this weekend before the cold, bad weather sets in. This week, we will start on the inside. Hopefully, our tree comes out as beautiful as yours!! If it comes out good, I will send you a picture.
So sorry that this is so long but I do enjoy talking to you!! Again, Chris and I hope you feel better each and every day!! Talk to you soon!!
Hi Daniel! Oh my, I feel sooo bad for you. Its no fun being sick but like you said, a little bit of Disney should make you forget all about that! How much longer do you have before your trip? It should be any day now, right? You will have such a magnificent time!! The holidays are so beautiful in WDW. That is my fav time of year to visit. I miss it. : (
Isn't Alice just wonderful!! The songs and quotes from that movie always brings a smile to my face. Its funny that you have the "I'm Late" quote on my birthday picture because Chris always says it when I'm running late. Which is most of the time!! LOL!! I do love the original story too, but a little Disney magic made it so whimsical. Actually, I'm very biased because I do like many of the Alice verisons out there. In fact, the Science Fiction channel SyFy is airing its own version of Alice in two parts next Sunday. I'm looking forward to it. I'm sure it will be alot like Tim Burton's version. I can understand why you would not want to see it next year (TB movie) but I have to give it a chance. However, I was not thrilled when I saw her change her classic blue dress but Cheshire Cat looks great as does The Mad Hatter. Speaking of movies, yes, we did see A Christmas Carol and I enjoyed it. It was very loud and not something younger children could enjoy but as an adult, I did! I have a special fondness towards that Christmas tale. I've seen all the movies that have retold the story and this one is rather good. And seeing it in 3D was remarkable!! The detail in the animation is wonderful. But I still feel that the characters are lifeless in the eyes. Computer has yet to catch up to traditional animation in that aspect!! ; )
END OF PART ONE - LOL!!!!
(My note is so long that I had to make it two parts!! Seems that you can't go over a certain amount of words - Sorry!!)
Hi there! I just saw your Christmas tree pictures and they are lovely. And not just because one is Alice. The photography is just wonderful with the lights reflecting off the garland. We are adding lights outside and hope to get our tree up soon too.
Thank you so much for the birthday picture! I LOVE it!!! I hope you are feeling much better. I'll talk to you soon - have to leave for a family Thanksgiving dinner. Have a magical day, my friend!!!

I had to laugh when I looked at that picture of that side of my desk I realized how much of my Disney fun stuff was in it! There's definitely no question in anyone's minds at work that I'm a Disney nut.
I can't believe tomorrow is the big day! Today will be a great first day of vacation we'll be enjoying the Thanksgiving holiday with my mom and grandparents before coming home to figure out packing. Ugh! I hate packing!!!
Mom and I will be at MVMCP on Friday, December 4. We start the day with a late breakfast at Chef Mickey’s so we can sleep in and we’ll be headed to MK right at 4 pm to enjoy the few things that aren’t open during the official party. Kevin decided to skip the party this year so he’ll be relaxing back at Animal Kingdom Lodge. His loss! ;)
Thank you for counting down the days to my trip with me. It has been so fun talking and planning all these months together. I can’t wait to come home and cheer for you to be at the end of your countdown!!! :)
